Candy Bar Surprise Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 13-oz. bag Hershey’s miniature candy bars, coarsely chopped
  • 2 sticks soft butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream 2 sticks of soft butter or margarine. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2/3 cup peanut butter.
  2. Add 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla. Blend together.
  3. Combine 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda, and slowly add to peanut butter mixture. Stir well.
  4. Add chopped chocolate bar pieces. Drop by tsp onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake 12-14 minutes at 350°F. Cool 1 min., remove to rack and cool. Yields 5 dozen cookies.
