Chewy Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Butter Flavor Crisco Shortening
  • 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps

  1. Combine shortening, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla. Beat at medium speed until well blended.
  2. Combine oats, flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Mix into creamy mixture at low speed.
  3. Stir in raisins and nuts.
  4. Drop rounded Tbsp onto greased sheets, 2 inches apart. Cool 2 min., remove cookies and place on sheets of foil to cool completely.
